Taking 40 de Vinks?

A SLEEPING councillor was nudged from his slumbers to vote on a key issue, it has been claimed.

The conduct of Councillor Peter de Vink (Ind) at a recent meeting of Midlothian Council prompted Councillor Adam Montgomery (Lab) to complain to the council’s chief executive.

But Councillor de Vink insists he had closed his eyes to concentrate on a “financial catastrophe” created by the previous administration rather than listen to the “drivel” talked by two Labour councillors.
