Vicky's Nativity scene causes a stir in Woodburn

THE Wool Shop in Woodburn, owned by Vicky Featherstonehaugh, is causing quite a stir with it's window display as the knitted Nativity scene has impressed many passers by.

Last year Vicky knitted a stocking but this year she didn't have enough time so her Granny came up with an idea. Jean Thomson of Mayfield spent months knitting the unusual Nativity.

The Woodburn shop sells wool and sewing accessories and also it's own knitting.

The shop is well known for it's window displays and earlier this year created a Hallowe'en scene but the owner admits that this is the 'best response ever'

Vicky said: " We just felt like doing something different as there is a lack of Christmas decorations in Woodburn. I'm a big kid and everyone who goes by either comes in to comment on the window scene or gives me the thumbs up."
