A FORMER Midlothian teacher is preparing for a 2000-kilometre journey through Vietnam to help the country’s disadvantaged children.
Sarah Heavie, who lives in Ho Chi Minh City, has signed up for the H2H Charity Bike Ride for the whole of February and joins a pedal-pumping team hoping to raise £14,700.
The 37-year-old lived in Glen View Road, Gorebridge, for eight years, working as a student primary teacher in the Midlothian area. She was a unit helper at the 3rd Gorebridge Brownies and a keen member of the local dog-walking community.
