Youth concert at Loanhead church

Fischy Music, a firm favourite in many of the schools and churches in Midlothian, are to be in concert in Loanhead today (Friday).

The band will be performing their usual mix of zany songs about life, faith and the importance of supporting one another in Loanhead Parish Church at 4.30pm.

The group will be singing some of their old favourites alongside some new songs from their most recent album “We’re on this Road”.

Having performed regularly in Loanhead for the Friday schools’ event during gala week, Fischy have established a special connection with Loanhead. However, this concert is open to all youngsters from all over the county.

Alan Duffin, a children’s worker at Loanhead Parish Church, said: “We’re really looking forward to the concert with Fischy – they’re great fun and we hope that lots of youngsters come and share with us.”

Children in P5 to P7 are being invited to stay on for pizza and to meet Fischy “close up and personal” – but booking for this is essential.

Tickets, priced £2, will be on sale at the door or from Alan on 0131 448 2459.

Fischy Music is an Edinburgh-based charity which promotes the emotional, spiritual and social wellbeing of children through song.

Last year the group worked with around 20,000 children in schools and churches and conducted training events for 1200 adults.
