A Bonnyrigg man who helped pull an unconscious girl from the sea is to be considered for a police meritorious award.
David Murdie (37), of Sherwood Crescent, told how the drama unfolded during a day out to Eyemouth on Monday last week.
Thirteen-year-old Tempany Sylvester was knocked off a harbour wall by 20ft waves.
As her friend Katie MacLean (14) attempted to save, she too was dragged into the water.
