Waiting for Video...

Pick up the phone today (Monday) and get dialling to support Midlothian’s young people.

Phone 0871 6268144 between 9am and midnight to help make a difference.

The Volunteer Centre Midlothian is seeking all the votes it can get to secure £45,000 People’s Millions funding to help local teenagers.

The Beadazzling project, which will be featured on the STV News tonight, aims to give a core group of young people experience in retail and assist them as they open up a pop-up jewellery shop in Dalkeith.

The Midlothian project is going head-to-head with Camphill Blair Drummond. The scheme with the most votes wins.

Youth services manager Karen Downie admitted it would be a David and Goliath challenge for the Midlothian group. “It’s a tough competition and we really need people to pick up the phone.

“We are up against a tough competitor.” The Stirling-based charity is part of the international Camphill Movement.

Voting is by telephone only and each landline call costs 10p. You can only make 10 calls using one phone line - after that your vote won’t count and will still be charged.
