Musselburgh man Bernard Harkins has been selected by Labour to stand for the Scottish Parliament in 2016.
He will stand in the Midlothian North and Musselburgh constituency, presently represented by against Colin Beattie (SNP).
Mr Harkins contested the constituency in 2011 polling 11,083 votes. Mr Beattie received 14,079 votes.
Married with a daughter, Mr Harkins is a Public and Commercial Services union representative in his workplace.
