Bin the habit of wasting food

Hundreds of pounds could be saved on your household budget if you stopped binning foodstuffs.

The Scottish Government has launched a new Natural Scotland campaign to encourage people to shop smarter to avoid creating food waste. There is also a knock-on impact on the environment.

When nipping to the store, make a shopping list, buy fresh produce little and often, and check use-by dates on packaging.

Use up leftovers or freeze food, particularly fresh items before they go off. In addition, think about recycling food waste or composting.
