Police are appealing for witnesses following a housebreaking at a property in Bonnyrigg.

The incident happened between 10am and 3.30pm on April 10 when a property in the Broomieknowe area was broken into and ransacked.

A number of items were taken including a silver rose bowl, silver tea set, 30 silver spoons and a silver bracelet.

Police are keen to trace a man and a woman who were spotted acting suspiciously in the area at the time.

The man is described as white, around 40 years old with a medium build. About 5ft 7in tall, he was wearing a beanie hat and spoke with a local accent. He was also smoking a rolled up cigarette.

The woman is described as white, around 40 years old with a medium build. Aproximately 5ft 6in tall, she had short, bright dyed blonde hair and was wearing white cropped trousers.

Detective Inspector Paul Batten said: “These items are very distinctive so we are keen to hear from anyone who has been offered these for sale. Similarly if anyone recognises the description of the suspects, they should contact police immediately.”
