A Bonnyrigg painter and decorator has joined an exclusive club of motorists – those who have passed their driving test without any faults.
Gareth Howells scored a faultless run during the 40-minute test in Musselburgh on April 3, putting himself among just 1.53 per cent of candidates.
With a three-month-old son and job in Edinburgh, the pressure had been well and truly on the 32-year-old.
He told the Advertiser: “Working on the other side of Edinburgh isn’t ideal when you have to carry tools on the bus.
“I really got my head together during the exam – the examiner said it was a lovely drive. When he told me that I had passed I erupted. I felt like crying.”
