A service for disadvantaged young people in Midlothian has been awarded almost £90,000 from Children in Need.

The Dalkeith-based Midlothian Young People’s Advice Service (MYPAS) received £88,987 in the first round of 2014 grants.

Established to improve the health and well-being of young people in the local area, MYPAS will use the grant for both one-on-one and group art therapy sessions for those affected by mental health issues.

Through these sessions, attendees can increase their confidence and learn to cope more effectively with their feelings, also helping improve their existing relationships with family and friends.
