Borders Railway driver’s family connection

Kevin Slater from Bilston discovered a family connection to the railways only after he took a career change and signed up to become one of the first train drivers to ride on the Borders Railway when it opens in 2015.

The former Beeslack High School pupil explains in this video that after following in his grandfather’s line of work for over 20 years as a postman he will now follow in his great grandfather’s footsteps.
