Dalkeith pool to close during holidays

THE swimming pool at the Dalkeith schools campus is to shut for six weeks during the school summer holidays.

The pool, run by BAM PPP UK, will close to the public on Monday, July 2, while maintenance work to the fabric of the building is carried out.

BAM PPP UK operations director Alex McKendrick said: "The building work is unavoidable but we scheduled it for the school summer holiday to keep disruption to a minimum.

"We appreciate, however, that many of our leisure customers will be disappointed by the pool's closure and apologise for any inconvenience. These works will ensure that once reopened the Dalkeith Campus will once again be able to offer unsurpassed leisure facilities to the local community."

The closure will allow extensive refurbishment to take place including installation of state-of-the-art equipment to the facility's gym and redecoration of the swimming pool.

All other facilities at the campus will remain open to the public and the other pools in the county will also be open as usual during the period.
