Members of the Army School of Bagpipe Music and Highland Drumming will be fundraising at ASDA, near Loanhead, this weekend.

From 10am to 8pm, the musicians will be performing on the hour every hour, both Saturday and Sunday.

In addition, the school members will be in store on static exercise bikes. In teams they plan to cycle for 12 hours each day.

The musicians are raising funds for the new memorial, which has been erected outside the music school at Redford Barracks, Edinburgh.

The memorial is a tribute to ll Army pipers and drummers who have lost their lives in conflict. The memorial consists of two parts - a cairn, built by Sappers from 39 Engineer Regiment, based in Kinloss, and a sculpture of a piper in full regimental dress, which was created by Midlothian sculptor Alan Herriot.
