A Pathhead woman was presented with a Churchill medallion recently after successfully completing her Winston Churchill Travelling Fellowship.

Lisa Archibald from Pathhead, was presented with a Churchill medallion in London by Dame Mary Peters, Olympic gold medal winning pentathlete and a 1972 Churchill Fellow herself.

As part of her fellowship, Lisa travelled to Australia and New Zealand to research mental health discrimination in communities with a view to improving attitudes to the subject in Scotland and raise awareness of the issue in the local area.

Speaking about the fellowship, Lisa said: “The travelling fellowships provide opportunities for British citizens to go abroad on a worthwhile enterprise of their own choosing, with the aim of enriching their lives through wider experience – and to bring back the benefit to others in their UK profession or community through sharing the results of their new knowledge.”
