It’s all go at the historic Rosslyn Chapel in the lead up to Christmas.
There will be craft activities, visiting choirs and a celebration of ‘Christmas by Candlelight’ are all taking place in the coming weeks.
‘Festive Friday’ craft activities for children return tomorrow (Friday) from 1pm to 4pm. Sessions will also take place on December 13 and 20.
Three lunchtime carol concerts have been arranged for Saturday December 7 and 14 and Tuesday, December 17 with choirs from Heriot Watt University and Schola Cantorum of St Patrick Edinburgh performing. These are also free to chapel visitors and passholders.
On Saturday at 7.30pm Rudsambee Company of Singers present a night of festive music from around the world, from traditional carols to more large scale contemporary works. Adults £10, Concessions £8 available from.rudsambee.org.uk.
Meanwhile, in nearby Loanhead, the town’s community development association will be hosting a Christmas concert in Loanhead Ex-servicemen’s Club tonight (Thursday) at 7pm. Funds raised will support the Loanhead fireworks display.
The town’s lights will be switched on on Saturday. Santa Claus and a torchlight procession will set off from the Library HQ building, Clerk Street, at 4pm. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
The parade will make its way to Fountain Green for the switch on at 4.30pm. The procession will then head to Loanhead Parish Church for refreshments and a chance to view the entries in the Christmas card competition.
In the church there will be carol singing and music from MacTaggart Scott Band.
