Where did you grow up?

Strathaven, Lanarkshire.

On a scale of 1-10 rank how happy you are with your lot. Probably 8 or 9.

What would it take to get this to 10? Be bolder.

What did you want to be when you were growing up? Apart from early desires to be a cowboy, and a brief period of wanting to be a medical missionary, a composer.

If you could give one bit of advice to your 18-year-old self, what would it be? Other people have their own hang-ups and agenda. You know what you want. Do it now.

When was the last time you cried and why?

There was a tear while watching Collapse by Michael Ruppert.

What’s your greatest achievement? Dunno. I haven’t died yet.

What three things would you still like to do before you die?

1) Bring out about five albums and tour.

2) Be in every single moment.

3) Get out of Scotland for a bit. Have an adventure.

What’s your favourite food? When it comes down to it, water. It never ceases to amaze me.

Where was the last place you went on holiday? A retreat on the Black Isle.

What was the last book you read? The Mahasatipatthana Sutta.

What’s the biggest fib you’ve ever told? I’ve never told a fib in my life.

If you ruled the world, what single act would you carry out.

I’d order everybody to stop work for a week, (except for those involved in basic essentials), and tell them to contemplate and write down truthfully, how exactly life/work/etc is for them, without fear of recrimination.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

The need to keep doing.

Name three guests, dead or alive, that you’d have at your fantasy dinner party.

Can’t think.

Who or what is your greatest inspiration?

Looking at what this thing called life is.

What’s your most embarrassing moment?

Trying to use the shock tactic to stop a supermarket checkout-lady’s hiccups by telling her to empty her till.

Do you have any regrets?

Many, but the actions regretted were carried out by a younger person who probably couldn’t have done anything different at the time.

What makes you see red? Inconsiderate actions. Politicians prevaricating. Loud swearing on buses.

In no more than five words, write your own epitaph.

James Bryce. Who?
