Sheila's memorial stone in the grounds of Rosslyn Chapel

A new book has been published detailing the colourful life of an Australian beauty, who is buried in the grounds of Rosslyn Chapel.

Sheila by Robert Wainwright tells the story of Sheila Chisholm, who was born on a New South Wales sheep farm.

She met her first husband, Lord Loughborough, son of the 5th Earl of Rosslyn, when she went to Egypt to nurse her brother during the First World War.

Sheila arrived in London and enjoyed society life to the full. She was close to Prince Albert, who became King George VI, and other friends included Freda, Mrs Dudley Ward.

Full story in this week’s Advertiser as well as a competition to win a copy of the book signed by the author. On sale now.
