A planning application has been submitted to extend St Andrew’s RC Primary School in Gorebridge to meet the growing school roll.

The application submitted earlier this month is for an extension to the primary school, erection of entrance canopies, formation of new door and window openings, and the installation of associated doors and windows.

St Andrew’s headteacher Mara Matthews is hopeful that the plans will be accepted.

She said: “We do need an extension. So we are very pleased indeed with these plans that have been put forward.

“We are absolutely delighted really and are looking forward to it happening.

“I think we are very forward thinking in Midlothain and these plans show that.”
