Tynewater Primary School recently unveiled its Green Flag, awarded to the school for its environmental work by Eco Schools Scotland.

Learning support teacher and eco committee co-ordinator Janet Gilbert revealed why two local people from Pathhead were chosen to unveil the flag.

She said: “The people we chose to unveil the flag were Jenny Gardner, who has two sons at the school and has given us alot of support with Tynewater’s raised beds and Sensory Garden. And Billy McCormack. He has grandchildren at the school, and over the years has given much support to the school.”
