Ladywood Leisure Centre was a riot of spring colour when Penicuik Horticultural Society held its bulb and homecraft show recently.
President Kathryn Pitts praised all the competitors who took part in the various classes including homecraft, floral art and bulbs.
She said: “The daffodils and hyacinths were a riot of colour although unfortunately for the miniature entries it turned out to be a bad growing year. However, the miniature daffodils bloomed proudly. Nature is difficult to predict and gardeners are in the hands of the weather.”
The judges were impressed with the high standard of work which made their job all the more difficult.
