Earlier this month the Advertiser revealed that plans were underway to create a new arts complex in Midlothian.

The proposed development would be built at the National Mining Museum Scotland in Newtongrange.

Midlothian Council has stressed that any project is at a very early stage and funding is still being sought.

What do you think of the proposals?

Do you think there should be a dedicated arts centre with theatre in Midlothian? Is enough being done to promote the arts locally?

Or is it a complete waste of money? Could funds be better used to improve other services across the county?
