The Commonwealth Games baton will be travelling through Midlothian on Monday, June 16.

The baton, which is currently in the Caribbean, sets off on its 40-day Scottish journey on Saturday, June 14.

The towns and villages the baton will be going to include Loanhead, Roslin, Penicuik, Rosewell, Bonnyrigg, Newtongrange, Gorebridge, Mayfield, Easthouses, Newbattle and Dalkeith.

Approximately 100 batonbearers will carry the baton each day.

Further highlights on the baton’s journey through Scotland, as well as street level details and the full programme of events will be announced nearer the time.
