Midlothian Councillors will meet in private this week to discuss controversial plans to build homes at Kippielaw farm.

A seminar at Midlothian House will give councillors a chance to review with officers feedback from a consultation on the main issues report.

Stephen Liddell of the Save Kippielaw group is against the housing plan. He fears it would lead to a merger of the communities of Mayfield, Kippielaw and Easthouses, therefore ending their separate identities.

He said: “We are hoping that the full support we have from local politicians and community leaders will transfer to the councillors at the seminar.”
