Midlothian Council has reassured residents of a Loanhead caravan park that their future is secure if a realignment of the A701 takes place.
Speaking at Loanhead and District Community Council, Councillor Owen Thompson (SNP) said the local authority would be looking to introduce protection measures for tenants in the area.
He said: “We have got statutory protections and we are developing our local policy to ensure there are [further] protections.
“The residents have rights on the site.”
Addressing Pentland Park tenants at the meeting, Councillor Thompson explained that the draft local plan sought views on a new route for the A701 Edinburgh to Penicuik road.
