The use of innovative food combinations has seen a Loanhead company shortlisted in the Scotland Food and Drink Excellence Awards.
Two of Macsween’s limited edition haggis are in the running for an award in the Red, White and Game category.
The Bilston Glen-based firm will be up against produce by the Amhuinnsuidhe Castle Estate and Scotty Brand when the winners are announced on May 22.
The Macsween products are the venison haggis seasoned with redcurrant and juniper and the three-bird haggis containing smoked duck, grouse and pheasant as well as quince and lavender.
Jo Macsween told the Advertiser: “They were part of our 60th anniversary. What do haggis makers to when they have a special birthday but create some new haggis? So that is what we did.”
