Legal issues over power cables are causing frustrating delays in the long-awaited Loanhead relief road, a community council has heard.

Updating Loanhead and District Community Council last week, Simon Dormer, representing Straiton Park Limited, said work stopped on December 20 due to the Christmas shutdown but had still to resume.

“The reason for that is quite simply we are waiting on Scottish Power to do some works. They have got to put overhead cables underground between Loanhead Road and Straiton Pond.”

Mr Dormer said that, although there had been a start date of October 28, he was hopeful that the works would happen within the next six weeks.
