Roslin Primary’s new head teacher Jo Wilson says she’s determined to create a “flagship” school with a distinctive identity.

Mrs Wilson (52) started at the school at the beginning of term following six years as depute head at King’s Park Primary, Dalkeith.

“I am loving it here,” she told the Advertiser. “The pupils, staff, parents and community are so friendly and welcoming.”

Mrs Wilson has held two well-attended “meet and greet” events at Roslin Primary and Bilston Annexe, which accommodates the village nursery and P1/2 class.

“I think it is important to build on that sense of community,” said Mrs Wilson.
