A group of African musicians will perform with the Pathhead Music Collective (PMC) on Sunday after passing on their skills to local children.

As part of a joint scheme between the PMC and ABC Creative Music funded by Big Lottery, the seven African musicians have been holding workshops across Scotland, and will teach Tynewater Primary School pupils African drumming and dancing this Friday, before performing with Pathhead’s renowned musicians on Sunday at Pathhead Village Hall, from 3pm.

PMC member Tom Bancroft met the musicians while travelling in Africa in 2013. He is delighted to be welcoming them to Pathhead this weekend.

He said: “I am absolutely buzzing to be able to work with these amazing musicians from Ghana and Burkina Faso and loving every minute of our visits to primary schools.

“Most of all I am looking forward to Sunday’s concert which will bring all of my passions into one place – friends, family, music, dancing and joy.”
