Mavisbank House Trustee Willie MacNair and Midlothian Council leader Owen Thompson open the new pathway

A new access path to one of Loanhead’s most historic buildings has been officially opened making it easier for the public to visit this gem.

Thanks to funding from Tyne Esk LEADER, Scottish Natural Heritage and five Midlothian councillors, Mavisbank House is now accessible from Polton.

Opening the new walkway, council leader Owen Thompson said: “It is fantastic to see this work completed, as it will allow greater public access to one of Midlothian’s beautiful historic landmarks.”
