Newtongrange man Robert Aikman recently celebrated 25 years service with his employer John Lewis in Edinburgh, in what has been a great year for him in more ways than one.

Robert, 58, received his gift of John Lewis vouchers from the department store’s staff council and partners.

he also received a contribution towards a celebration to mark his milestone, which he can spend in any way he chooses. He is now also entitled to take six months of leave as a reward for his professional achievement, and has decided to put this on hold for a while so that he can take it as part of his early retirement plan in the future.

Looking back on his 25 years at the department store, Robert said: “There have been so many highlights to celebrate overall and I would like to thank John Lewis for giving me the opportunity to work in a partnership environment, where many staff are more like family and friends than work colleagues.”
