Motorists’ calls for tougher parking restrictions in the centre of Dalkeith have been turned down by Midlothian Council.
Problems at Hunt Close were highlighted at a recent public meeting in the town when residents’ aired their concerns.
Ronnie Bathgate told Dalkeith and District Community Council that issues, such as visiting drivers using parking spaces intended for local elderly residents, and cars being left at a narrow access point into the cul-de-sac, had become “ridiculous”.
He said: “There are many occasions when I come home and cannot get in because people have abandoned their cars.
“It has been worse since parking charges were introduced at North Wynd.”
