Pay deal ends strikes at Midlothian college campus

Industrial action has come to an end at a Midlothian college campus after teaching staff overwhelmingly accepted a new pay deal.

Employees at Edinburgh College, which has a campus in Dalkeith, last week voted overwhelmingly to accept an offer of harmonisation of their terms and conditions.

Worth 3 per cent this year and 4 per cent the following, the deal ensures there will be no repeat of strikes which took place across all four campuses last month.

The harmonisation deal gives an annual teaching allocation of 800 hours per member of staff.
