Penicuik folk have dug deep to support a project to provide clean drinking water and refurbished wells in north Malawi.

Last week Penicuik for Africa held a coffee morning at St James the Less Church Hall raising £344 towards the project.

Thanks to previous fundraising events, the charity supporters presented £3,000 to Jonty Hunter, a civil engineer from West Linton, to allow his newly-established Malawian social enterpriser business Drinkwell International to refurbish two wells and to sink a new bore hole.
