Officers are appealing for any information in relation to the incidents
Detective Sergeant Gordon Millar said: “Those responsible for these thefts may try and sell items on and so anyone who comes across individuals attempting to do so is asked to contact police immediately.
“Anyone who remembers seeing any suspicious activity in this area between Friday evening and Monday morning, or who has information that can assist with our enquiries is also asked to come forward.”
He added: “The crimes are occurring during the hours of darkness and the culprits are forcing entry to the premises and stealing items from within. It is also believed that they are using a vehicle, so if anyone sees anyone acting suspiciously whether on foot or in a vehicle they are urged to contact police immediately.
“Operation RAC is well underway and a number of individuals have been brought before the courts for these crimes. Those responsible for housebreakings can be rest assured that they will dealt with robustly.”
DS Millar advised the public to seek security information to safeguard their homes and possessions. Crime prevention advice is available by speaking to the local policing team or visiting the Police Scotland website at www.scotland.police.uk.
