S6 pupils at Penicuik High School are delighted with the positive inspectors' report

Students are taking ‘PRIDE’ in Penicuik High School after it received a glowing inspection report from Education Scotland.

S6 pupils – head boy Scott Glen (17), head girl Annie Tucker (18), house captain Julie Hand (17), and charities committee chairman Abigail Horne (17) – were full of praise for their school.

The inspectors found confident and courteous young people during their visit and a school offering a range of opportunities, including international experiences.

There was effective support to young people requiring additional support needs.

Another key strength was the school ethos – PRIDE which represents participation, respect, inclusion, determination and excellence.

Head girl Annie said: “There was an idea that the inspection was going to be really intrusive.

“For a lot of teachers and students we knew we are fortunate to go to this school but it is nice to have it confirmed by someone external.”
