Work is being carried out on a willow structure at Cuiken Primary, Penicuik

Cuiken Primary children are hard at work planting a new willow structure at the Penicuik school as part of a programme of improvements to the grounds.

With funding support from Councillors Derek Rosie and Joe Wallace, the structure will provide an outdoor classroom, mirroring the shape of the Pentland Hills.

Acting head teacher Pauline McKay said: “All of the pupils have been fully involved in the process – even in the earliest stages of the design.

“There was a great sense of team work and lots of excitement generated when work began.”
