Midlothian Library Services manager and contest adjudicator, Philip Wark, winners Matthew Lannagan, Reece Bertram, Lucy Hanlon and quizmaster Elaine Robertson from Dalkeith Public Library.

S2 Lasswade High School pupils Matthew Lannagan, Reece Bertram and Lucy Hanlon are the winners of the annual Midlothian Spell Masters Competition for all local secondary schools.

Organised by the school librarians and English Departments and sponsored by the Co-operative Food Stores, Newtongrange, the contest was hosted by last year’s winner, Beeslack Community High School and the winning team received the “Midlothian Spell Masters” shield for their school and individual prizes of Amazon vouchers.
