Planned strikes at a college campus have been postponed following “constructive” talks between Edinburgh College and the EIS Union.
Centred on lecturers’ concerns over proposed changes to their contractual working conditions, the dispute resulted in strikes at all four Edinburgh College campuses, including one at Dalhousie Road in Dalkeith, earlier this month.
Industrial action looked set to continue this week (February 25-27), however it is understood that an amended proposal by the college’s board of management is being considered by the Educational Institute of Scotland (EIS) union.
The board said its offer would harmonise key elements of contracts for all teaching staff, while remaining “equitable, fair and affordable”.
