Strikes by teaching staff at Edinburgh College appear set to continue after an immediate resolution failed to materialise during crunch talks.

A revised offer to raise the maximum salary of £34,700 to around £36,000 over a two-year period, while capping teaching hours to a maximum of 24 hours per week, was made to the union.

The Educational Institute of Scotland (EIS) union said it would remain open to further negotiations with the college and would consult with members again later this week before meeting with management again next week.
