Three events will take place in Dalkeith, Penicuik and Gorebridge this week to celebrate National Carers Week.
On Monday, June 9, relaxation techniques will be on offer at Penicuik Library as well as a talk about services and support available. There will also be a talk on health reading collections and biblotherapy sessions. There will also be a live IT session.
The same format will take place at Gorebridge Library on Thursday, June 12 along with a host of other activities on offer during the week.
On Wednesday, June 11, at Vocal Carers Centre, Hardengreen, you can have a look around the new Carers Centre and take part in different activities throughout the day such as carer information sessions, arts and crafts table and aromatherapy.
As well as Midlothian Council and NHS Lothian a number of voluntary organisations including VOCAL, Alzheimers Scotland, Crossroads and Children 1st will be on hand to offer advice and information.
It is estimated that in Scotland unpaid carers provide £10.3 billion pounds worth of care each year and in Midlothian there are an estimated 14,000 carers who contribute £171 million per year.
