Teen’s tresses cut for charity

Before and after for Zoe Galbraith

Before and after for Zoe Galbraith

It was a case of hair today, gone tomorrow for Penicuik teenager Zoe Galbraith.

The S4 pupil at Penicuik High School has had 20cm cut off her flowing locks to raise £652.78 for cancer research.

In addition, the cut hair has been donated to the Little Princess Trust, a charity which provides real-hair wigs for children suffering hair loss.

Zoe (16) explained she had grown her hair to half way down her back but decided to go for the chop in memory of her granddad Tom Galbraith who had died from cancer last year.
