A Loanhead historian has converted his love of rugby into a new book detailing Scotland’s highs and lows over the past 140 years.

Dr Ken Bogle, the local history officer with Midlothian Council, has written ‘Scottish Rugby: Game by Game’.

The books details all of the Scotland team’s matches – at home and abroad – since 1871.

“It is a game by game account up to this year. That is almost 700 matches,” explained Ken.

“I’m rugby daft. I’m from the Borders and spend most of my waking hours thinking about rugby.
