Police are appealing for information after thieves stole four bikes from Midlothian’s only school for children with special needs.

Three tricycles and a mountain bike were stolen from a wooden shed within the grounds of Saltersgate School on Cousland Road, Dalkeith.

The theft happened at the Dalkeith Schools Campus between noon on January 17 and 11am on January 23.

The tricycles, which were bought as new three-years ago, were worth £350 each at the time. The mountain bike was donated second-hand and is valued at around £50.
