The learning community surrounding Lasswade High School has received a glowing report from government inspectors.
The Education Scotland inspection of community learning and development partners took place in November.
Coming under the microscope were groups and projects such as Midlothian Surestart, Loanhead Community Learning Centre, Friday Night Music Project, Mount Esk Nursery School, Volunteer Centre Midlothian, Midlothian Youth Platform, MVA, MYPAS, MTS, PAVE, Midlothian Streetwork Project, Midlothian Duke of Edinburgh Open Group, Lasswade Youth Forum, LHSC Pupil Council, Now You Are 2 Group, LOL (Bonnyrigg) Youth Drama Club, Midlothian After School Ski Clubs and CLD Cycle Workshop.
During the visit, Education Scotland staff talked to children, young people and adults, as they were keen to find out how well partners were improving the life chances of people living in the community through learning. They also looked at how well staff and volunteers were developing their own practices and how well partners were working together.
