NHS Lothian has launched a public consultation into its vision for the future of healthcare.
The board is seeking views on its proposals within “Our Health, Our Care, Our Future”.
The proposals include developing primary care, community services and home care. Greater emphasis will be placed on early intervention and self-care.
The vision includes changes to the way the Midlothian Hospital is used to provide care for older people to prevent unnecessary admissions to hospital.
Chief executive Tim Davison said: “This is without doubt one of the most important projects that we will undertake and we need the opinions and feedback from the people we serve to help shape these services.”
