Wreath laying on International Workers' Memorial Day in Bonnyrigg

Midlothian Trades Union Council held its annual commemoration of International Workers’ Memorial Day at King George V Park, Bonnyrigg, last week.

Councillors and trades unionists, including former Midlothian MP and NUM official Eric Clarke, laid floral tributes and wreaths at the statue to Michael McGahey, the former Scottish miners’ leader.

The address was given by Tom Lannon, UCATT activist, and the service also included an address by Tom Waterston in appreciation of the late Margo Macdonald MSP.
