An innovative project, aimed at helping Midlothian young people gain employment in the retail sector, is well underway.
The Beadazzling Get Ready for Retail initiative is now five weeks in.
Spearheaded by the Volunteer Centre Midlothian, the project will take a team of youngsters and train them with the skills and give them the confidence to run a pop-up jewellery shop in Dalkeith later this year.
Youth development co-ordinator Lorraine McAuley said: “The Beadazzling project is now well underway and has been very positive so far.
“Now in our fifth week of training with our core group of young people, they are starting to form plans for the shop and think of some creative ideas for our jewellery.”
