RESIDENTS of Dalkeith are being invited to add their memories to the town’s heritage trail.

The town’s unique history is the focus of an innovative new project, which will see a series of colourful plaques being installed this summer.

The scheme is being spearheaded by Midlothian’s artist-in-residence Susan T Grant, with support from Midlothian Council’s arts and creativity team, and funding from Dalkeith Townscape Heritage Initiative and Heritage Lottery Fund.

Susan wants favourite Dalkeith memories and family stories to feature on the plaques, which will form a planned heritage trail around the town centre.
