Locals have welcomed plans to open an indoor skate park at Mayfield Industrial Estate in a unit which has been empty for 15 years.

As previously reported in the Advertiser, Transgression Park has applied for planning permission to open a facility at Mayfield Industrial Estate, at the site of the old machining factory.

The social enterprise-led skate park is currently based at Peffermill Industrial Estate in Edinburgh.

Mayfield Community Council chairman Robert Hogg told last week’s meeting: “It would be great to see it getting used again. It’s an eyesore as it is. All the skate parks are busy. It’s a popular thing. Obviously Transgression Park have seen the potential of opening here.”
